The Isle of Man economy has experienced sustained growth over recent years and many new enterprises have been established. Whereas it has been stimulated by financial services in the last few years, the Isle of Man has a diversified and well-balanced economy which combines traditional industries such as agriculture, fishing and tourism with manufacturing, shipping and the film industry. The Island's government has encouraged economic growth in recent years by creating a sympathetic tax regime and a suitable legislative framework for expansion by offering financial incentives where necessary. Film Industry
The Isle of Man Film Commission has established the Isle of Man Film and Television Fund to provide equity investment to film and television productions shooting entirely or partly on the Island.

The Isle of Man Shipping Register is an International British Register with origins dating back to 1786.
Finance Sector
The Isle of Man is already established as a leading international finance centre, providing a wide variety of quality financial and corporate services.
Tourism
Tourism in the Isle of Man is in transition from traditional "bucket and spade" to sports, heritage and leisure. There is a steady and constant improvement in the basic quality of the general infrastructure and accommodation facilities which serve the Island's visitor.
Industry and Manufacturing
The manufacturing sector is a main provider of full time employment on the Island and is second only to finance in terms of growth and contribution to the economy.
Government Grants for Industry and Manufacturing
The Department of Trade and Industry is particularly keen to stimulate high value added industries which are compatible with the Islands superb environment.
